What is a common noun? A common noun names a person, place, thing, or idea.

What is a proper noun? A proper noun names a particular person, place, thing, or idea. It is always capitalized. In proper nouns of more than one word, each important word is capitalized. –East Middle School –Empire State Building

What is a common noun? What is a proper noun? Take the list that you created with nouns. Exchange papers with the person behind you. On your new paper mark each noun as either common or proper. Give it back to the owner when you are done. Owners check their work.
