2 AUTHOR Oliver Twist was written by Charles Dickens in In this novel, we can see all the misera in which lived the poor and working clases during the XIX century in London.

3 CHARACTERS OLIVER TWIST: he is a poor orphan and his life is destinated to be a life of misery and crime. Mr. BUMBLE: he is by the orphanage where Oliver is grown up he is a bad and mean person. Sra. Corney: she is the orphanage´s housekeeper and she is the only the knows the true identity of Oliver. There are a lot of secundary characters such as Fagin and Bill Sikes

4 SUMMARY The book shows the Oliver Twist´s life. Her mother was so poor that she has to give birth in an orphanage and she dies when Oliver is born. Mr Bumble calls the baby, Oliver Twist

5 This child is grown up in the orphanage until he starts working in a mortuary. Oliver doesn´t like working there and he finishes in a band of thieves led by Fagin. This man forces Oliver to steal and as the child doesn´t want to do it, he beats him.

6 Oliver gets to escape and for the first time he is happy because Mrs Badwin takes care of him. Finally, Fagin is sentenced to death and as Oliver is a distant realative he heritates all his money and he is a adopted by Mr Brownlow

7 PERSONAL OPINION The novel reflects how hard the life was in the orphanages during the XIX century where the children were beaten and forced to work. It also shows the atmosphere in the slums where the crime was the only way to survive. Fortunately Oliver gets to escape of all this world and he is adopted. To sum up, the life of the poor children in the XIX century was very hard and very sad.
