5. An Institution’s Duty of Care 1. Take reasonable actions when the institution has actual notice of a dangerous condition in a parking lot. 2. Use reasonable efforts to inspect parking lots for such dangerous conditions.

6. Improving Parking Lot Management Practice 1: Know the properties for which the institution is responsible. Practice 2: Regularly inspect and patrol parking lots. Practice 3: Create and retain maintenance records and accident reports.
