5 Lesson 7 – More Miracles 7:1-17 In Capernaum vv. 1-10 A centurion has a slave sick unto death v. 2 He had heard about Jesus…sent some Jewish leaders to bring Him v. 3 This centurion was well thought of by the Jews vv. 4-5

6 Lesson 7 – More Miracles 7:1-17 In Capernaum vv. 1-10 After Jesus starts toward his house, He is met by friends of the centurion…they tell Him the centurion did not feel worthy to have Jesus come to his house v. 6 “Just speak the word…” for healing v. 7

14 Lesson 7 – Messages Re: John 7:18-35 John in prison 3:19-20 He hears about all Jesus has done…sends disciples to inquire if He is the “Expected One or do we look for another?” vv. 18-19 An interesting question coming from John, especially considering 3:21-22 cp. Jn 1:29-34

15 Lesson 7 – Messages Re: John 7:18-35 Jesus sends a reply back to John vv. 20-23 He quotes Isa 35 & 61 cp. 4:18-19 He emphasizes His healing & His preaching He also encourages all (including John) not to “stumble over Him” through unbelief Signs were to induce faith cp. Jn 10:37-38

22 Lesson 7 – Jesus & Simon 7:36-50 Jesus makes the application vv. 44-50 Simon had given no thought to Jesus’ needs while He was in his home…she had vv. 44-46 Truth Ù both were “debtors” Though Simon “judged” her unworthy, he was just as needy before Jesus as she was

23 Lesson 7 – Jesus & Simon 7:36-50 Jesus makes the application vv. 44-50 The difference Ù she was more aware of this need than Simon was…thus, she showed more appreciation (love) Therefore, Jesus forgave her vv. 47-48, 50 The crowd marveled at Jesus’ words v. 49
