Guz 16/04/20082 HCAL status: 137 Cs calibration system Integrators ★ the integrators are fully operational, 9 working spare boards exist ★ the firmware of the integrator readout boards was updated (Anatoly): now the internal timer is operational ★ the readout is now able to work in the “block” mode. ☯ normal mode: 3.5 ms/16-ch module, 7.5ms/40-ch module ☭ block mode: 1.5 ms/module, both 16- and 40-ch ones the optimum for the calibration is at ~3…5 ms  block readout chosen (with some throttling) Hydraulic system, CAN bus control electronics ★ fully functional. Many runs performed with dummy capsules at both HCAL halves, no major problem detected by now

Guz 16/04/20083 HCAL status: 137 Cs calibration system Software ★ new version of the control program running on HCDCS01W is prepared: ✜ updates made in the working sequence, raw data format, interface ✜ DIM server added, publishing the status of the system and executing DIM commands ★ the integration into ECS is under way ➣ A PVSS panel showing the status of the system and sending commands to the calibration control exists ☹ the integration into the FSM is not yet finished. To be completed by the end of April (with help of Xavier)

Guz 16/04/20084 HCAL status: 137 Cs calibration system Safety procedure, installation of the 137 Cs sources: ★ the three 137 Cs sources are stored at CERN in CS/RP group. ★ the transport containers for the sources are produced (E. Chernov, K. Kachnov) ★ the 3 blinking warning lights are installed, one at the entrance to the platform and two on top of it ★ the Safety Manual is updated by Rustem, according to the feedback obtained from Gloria, Eric and Marie- Noelle. The official approval procedure is foreseen.

5. Yu. Guz 16/04/20085 HCAL status: 137 Cs calibration system The system is now ready for the HCAL calibration with real 137 Cs source. The goal is to perform our first calibration run in the beginning of May
