3. King David defeated Saul and became the King of Israel. God made a promise to keep David’s family on the throne forever. David was a good King. He made some mistakes, but overall, he followed God with his whole heart. When David was close to death, he chose Solomon to be the next king.

4. One night, Solomon goes to sleep and God appears to him in a dream. God tells Solomon that He will give to Solomon anything that the young King wishes for. Solomon asks for wisdom to rule the kingdom well. God is very pleased with Solomon’s answer. God grants Solomon’s wish. God gives him wisdom, riches, honor, and many other blessings.

5. Just as God promised, Solomon became wealthy and prosperous. The Kingdom of Israel became larger than it ever had before. Also, Solomon was given great wisdom. People would travel from very far away to hear Solomon’s wisdom.

6. One day, two women come before the King. They are having a heated argument. They are both arguing over a child. Both of the women claim to be the child’s mother. Who is lying? Who is telling the truth? What should Solomon do?

7. King Solomon decides to cut the baby in half. That way, each woman can have half the baby and go in piece. Sharing is caring!

8. One of the women thinks it’s a great idea. The other woman begs for the baby to not be cut. She even tells Solomon to give the baby to the other woman. Solomon then realizes that the woman who cared about the child’s life is the true mother. The baby was given back to the true mother, and the other woman was taken to jail.

9. King Solomon started off well. He, however, liked the ladies. He married many of them: 700 wives and 300 concubines!!!!!!!!!!!! Many of these women were foreign Princesses. They led Solomon astray.
