3 The Role of the Form Tutor To be the first ‘port of call’ To be the Pastoral Guide To be the Academic Guide To use data effectively in Academic Tutorials To develop student Leadership and Citizenship To develop improved parental engagement To support BFL

4 How do we provide for that at present ? 15 minutes tutor period and 5 minute scrimmage in the morning 25+ students in a tutor group No time given to systematically develop parental engagement role. After induction and year 7 no opportunity for tutor to meet parents

5 More effective tutoring Divide the school population (1215) by the number of tutors and co- tutors (66) We have tutor groups of 18 with two adults in each group 6 Colleges with 11 groups in each These are like small schools, each with a Head, Deputy and Senior Tutor Sixth formers with play a pivotal role in the leadership of each college
