Remember to ask the question first and then give the student name to increase the level of attention students are giving. 8812 Repetition of student responses Connecting one student to another student. Once student responds, maybe ask more questions or have other students ask questions of that student? 4816 Is the questioning evenly distributed throughout the classroom? A lot of good engagement was observed. Remember to think about the active zone and work the room.

9 Background January – pilot walk through visits were performed by the A.I.T. Team January – walk through visit forms were created based on teacher feedback February – every teacher received a walk through and was given feedback February – a second walk through was performed to include all administration

10 Purpose of Walk Through Visits Provide consistent feedback to teachers on instructional strategies, school expectations, and best practices Increase interaction with your administrative staff

11 Purpose of Peer Visit A chance to see your peers: Classrooms Rules posted? Objective? Is the setup conducive to learning Instructional Techniques Questioning Objectives Are they two part objectives, using Bloom’s levels? Gather items for your toolbox

12 Now You Try….. Using the schedule provided, you will visit 2 classrooms with your team on Wednesday, March 16 th, 2016. You will spend approximately 10 minutes in each classroom, taking notes on your walk through form provided

13 Closure Who can explain the purpose of peer visit? Questions? Your Task: Review the walk through form and be prepared for Wednesday’s walk through. We will meet in the Library at the beginning of the PLC session to divide up in groups.
