2 Workshop - Draft Agenda Morning Session 08:00 – Coffee / continental breakfast available 08:30 – Status of Initiative (Satya and Guenter) (successes so far of outreach and technology, summary feedback, update on business models and take-up, remaining hurdles / challenges etc.) 09:00 – Open Edge Computing – Overview Targets (Rolf) (what do we want to achieve regarding OEC eco-system, business & technology, what could the verticals / Partners get out of it) 09:30 – Shape and Direction of OEC (what is the right model for OEC going forward) – Option A: Run as is (not considered)  keep initiative going with the current partners at CMU – Option B: Expand current set-up (Guenter)  keep initiative at CMU but with more partners and more funding – Option C: Merge with MEC (Yun-Chao)  make the initiative part of the MEC Industry Engagement Group) – Option D: OEC Consortium (Rolf)  create an independent consortium with membership etc. 10:30 – Decision on Shape and Direction of OEC (all) Afternoon Session 12:00 – Pick up lunch and continue 12:00 – Outreach Program: Status and next steps (Rolf, Guenter)  partner ideas, consultancy outreach channel 13:00 – Recent technical results and current work (CMU team) 15:00 – Technical Program: Status and next steps, creation of new PoCs, New use cases (Rolf) 16:00 – AOB, action items etc 16:30 – End of Meeting 17:00 – Dinner for all workshop participants 2

5 Open Edge Computing Initiative: Motivation, Mission and Targets Background & Motivation: Open Edge Computing enables a new category of services (for example Tactile Service) and a disruptive improvement of customer experience. Hence, it provides attractive new business opportunities for all players in the value chain. Mission of Initiative: Bring together the Application Providers, the Infrastructure Providers and the Service Providers to drive the eco system development for Open Edge Computing Key Targets: 1.Drive the adoption of Open Edge Computing within the IT platform industry & the relevant open source communities 2.Drive the adoption of Open Edge Computing with the application service provider industry & relevant app developer communities 3.Drive the adoption of Open Edge Computing within the telecom & cloud service provider industry 4.Synchronise specification and architecture with relevant standardisation bodies and initiatives (ETSI MEC ISG, OPNFV etc.) 55 5

6 Overview Forum Deliverables 1.Drive the adoption of Open Edge Computing within the IT platform industry & the relevant open source communities – Deliver an OpenStack-based reference platform for Edge Computing (including OpenStack extensions, API, central backend systems etc). Drive upstream develepment through OPNFV? – Get OpenStack extensions accepted by OpenStack Foundation – Drive engagement of source developers in reference platform  demonstrations, presentations etc. 2.Drive the adoption of Open Edge Computing with the application service provider industry & relevant app developer communities – Deliver an attractive OpenStack-based E2E demonstrator (with discovery, synthesis and handoff) – Develop demonstrator applications & PoC´s for selected verticals, engage with selected verticals directly – Support start-up companies / app companies to devlop edge solutions – Organise / sponsor events (hackathons, app conferences, vertical conferences etc) – Organise application developer training courses 3.Drive the adoption of Open Edge Computing within the telecom & cloud service provider industry – Get more telecom operators and cloud service providers actively engaged in Edge Computing activities – Provide an exchange and communication platform for implementations, demonstrators and Engage with the application service providers and vertical industries  mobile application services providers, automotive industry etc. 4.Synchronise specification and architecture with relevant standardisation bodies and initiatives (ETSI MEC ISG, OPNFV etc.) – Engage and align with ETSI MEC, OPNFV, ETSI NFV etc.. Ensure a seamless and interoperable technology landscape 5.Communiation, marketing, outreach, education – Provide an communication and community platform with information and listings of implementations, demonstrators etc – Reach out to new partners and supporters for consortium 6
