3 Information and Technology Instruction Focus on two key research standards for each grade level Standards chosen will vary between grade levels Teach digital citizenship and citing works (3-5 th grades) Incorporate tech standards within research lessons Integrate tech and research standards during reading advocacy lessons

4 PLAN – Discuss a Topic, Ask Key Questions about the Topic GATHER– Search for, Locate and Select the Best Information ORGANIZE– Take Notes Using Own Words, Evaluate, and Cite Works SHARE – Create a Project Based on Notes that Answer Questions EVALUATE - Questions Answered? 5 Reading Advocacy Book Shares – Book Talks - motivate students, maintaining a powerful culture for reading Displays in the Library (See me if you want to share an idea) School Wide Accelerated Reader PTSA Used Book Fair (2 Free Books for each student) Poem in Your Pocket Muffins with Mom & Read, Doughnuts with Dad & Read Involve volunteers – one-on-one reading Parents Senior Citizens Groups http://callaway.frco.k12.va.us
