Google Community and Google Drive Level 2 Beauty Therapy learners have been actively engaging through the community with their peers and their tutor to enhance communication outside of the session and extend their learning outside of the classroom. This has successfully developed… The sharing of resources from google drive to minimise photocopying. The sharing of useful weblinks to encourage extended learning and working towards a flipped classroom approach (i.e. videos, quizlets). Planning events such as key events or deadlines to enable learners to effectively plan their time and ensure they meet deadlines. Sharing of learners work to show good practice and encourage peer assessment i.e. filming of facial massage and make-up tutorials, power points of research activities and photos of learners’ theory and practical work. The community helps to bring all of the online learning resources together.

6. QUIZLETS Quizlet has been used as a resource with Level Two Beauty Therapy learners to encourage a flipped classroom approach in Anatomy and Physiology and theory sessions. Learners are encouraged to engage and complete the quizlet activities prior to the lesson so learners already have underpinning knowledge of the session and the tutor can spend more time in the session concentrating on applying the underpinning knowledge. All learners are then formatively assessed the following session through the test application on quizlet to assess their understanding and evidence their learning. Learners use google drive to save their test results. This has encouraged independent learning, providing learners with the skills to actively engage in a new topic and decide on the quizlet activities which they find most useful to develop their learning.. The learners enjoy using their phones or chrome books to engage in the session. They remain stimulated by the variety of activities and motivated by the ongoing use of formative assessmen t which enables both the tutor and the learners to continuously measure their progress. 10. Videos and photos Videos are used within the sessions to encourage a flipped classroom approach, which enables learners to observe the video in preparation for the session. Secondly, videos are used by the learners to film the tutor as additional support and to film themselves and other learners. This encourages peer assessment and enables learners to share good practice within their class. Videos have been extremely useful for practical treatments such as filming facial massage procedures to enable the tutor to formatively assess the learners and provide individual learner feedback. Learners have also created makeup tutorial videos providing them with the opportunity to demonstrate their practical and theoretical skills of makeup. Photos have also been used within theory and practical sessions to share good practice. 14. E-Portfolio and Online assignments. E-Portfolios are used as an assessment tool to track a learners journey throughout their course. Through using e-portfolio and online marking of assignments, it develops a trail of learners progress. Learners work towards developing a range of theoretical, practical and essential skills. Learners are encouraged to set individual SMART targets on ProMonitor weekly to ensure they remain on target. Importance is also placed on learners developing their literacy skills through the use of online assignments, where incorrect spellings are retyped or learners create a dictionary at the end of their work as a reference for future spellings. Learners are also encouraged to develop their literacy skills through completing the Nearpod and Quizlet open ended questions.
