BASIC INFO The tiger (Panthera tigris) is a mammal of the Felidae family, the largest of four "big cats" in the genus Panthera.[3] Native to much of eastern and southern Asia, the tiger is an apex predator and an obligate carnivore. Reaching up to 4 metres (13 feet) in total length and weighing up to 300 kilograms (660 pounds), the larger tiger subspecies are comparable in size to the biggest extinct felids.[4][5] Aside from their great bulk and power, their most recognizable feature is the pattern of dark vertical stripes that overlays near-white to reddish-orange fur, with lighter underparts.mammalFelidaebig catsgenus Panthera[3] Asiaapex predatorobligate carnivoremetres[4][5]

ADAPTATION The Indochinese Tiger has a flexible backbone which helps it jump on large objects. The Indonchinese tiger also has large, sharp teeth which it uses to hunt and kill prey. The i. tiger has very good eyesight, which they use to see in the dark when they hunt at night. It also has very strong legs, to jump thirty feet in the air to pounce on their prey. Another characteristic of the indonchinese tiger is the black stripes which it uses for to camoflauge them when they hunt. The colors of their fur will blend in with their surroundings, so their prey won't see them. I. Tigers have thick coats to keep them warm during the winter. Tigers have big padded paws to protect their feet. Tigers also has a good sence of smell to track down their prey. The I. Tiger also has a long tail for balance and whiskers that are like feelers.

ANCESTORS The earliest known information on the origins of the tiger is fossil records discovered in the heart of Siberia. These fossils dated back to the Pleistocene period, indicating that a Saber- toothed tiger existed there millions of years ago. Only about 10,000 years ago did this tiger become extinct, and true tigers, descendants of the Toothed-toothed tiger, began to extend their range, moving south in search of more suitable habitats. The Goldis, ancestors of the ancient tribes of the Amur still share this land with the tiger.

HATBIT The tiger, largest of all cats, is one of the most charismatic and evocative species on Earth; it is also one of the most threatened. Only about 4,000 remain in the wild, most in isolated pockets spread across increasingly fragmented forests stretching from India to south-eastern China and from the Russian Far East to Sumatra, Indonesia

FOOD CHAIN They hunt deer, elks and wild boar and usually catch young, old or ill animals that cannot run fast. These cats rarely attack people, but there have been some reports about man-eating felines killing humans. The siberian tiger food chain is not observable on a farm habitat or on any other farms.
