Software Tools WeSay Fieldworks Language Explorer (FLEx) Lexique Pro (Data is easily transferrable between these three tools)

WeSay Simple Easy to use Supports wordlist data collection Supports semantic domain data collection Produces a simple PDF Limited support for continued data research and dictionary development Data from WeSay can easily be imported into FLEx

FLEx (Fieldworks Language Explorer) Very Powerful Many features and tools available for extensive development and research Supports wordlist data collection Supports semantic domain data collection Supports word collection from texts Outputs Printable Dictionary Takes time to learn to use properly

Lexique Pro Dictionary Presentation Tool From WeSay and FLEx Produces a dictionary in multiple forms Word document (RTF) Print (PDF possible) CD Web Pages Supports Pictures and Audio as well Supports Pictures and Audio as well

Rapid Word Collection Workshop Based on Ronald Moe’s work with the Dictionary Development Process (DDP) Uses Semantic domain word collection to collect thousands of words in a very short time. Involves many first language speakers in a fun, easy way to develop and promote the use of their language. Skills developed in this workshop are transferable to future language work.

Rapid Word Collection Workshop At the end of the workshop, WeSay can be used to produce a simple draft wordlist which is printed and shared with the workshop participants. At the end of the workshop, WeSay can be used to produce a simple draft wordlist which is printed and shared with the workshop participants. The data can be further developed in WeSay, and tranferred easily into Lexique Pro for production and/or FLEx for more complex development and analysis.
