COMIC STRIP INSTRUCTIONS

LOG-IN Go to toondoo.com Log-in to an account of one of your group members

PICK COMIC STRIP LAYOUT Click on Create to choose your layout Your comic strip must have at least 4 boxes You may choose a Horizontal or Vertical Layout If you choose a layout that does not have 4 boxes, you will have to create the first set of boxes, save them, and then create the second set.

CREATE YOUR COMIC The first box of your Comic Strip must include the Amendment number and the definition of the amendment in your own words Your Comic Strip must explain your amendment in everyday life Remember you must have at least 4 boxes – a title box and three more boxes. If you need more than 4 boxes, that is fine.

SAVING YOUR COMIC Click “Start Here” in the upper left corner Click “Save As” The title of your comic should be your amendment and the names of the people in your group Example: 9 th Amendment – Mr. Tilley Once you have saved your comic at the end of class, exit the Edit screen Remember to save often!!! Do the “Save As” for the first save, and then “Save” for the other saves.

GETTING TO YOUR SAVED COMIC Login Hover the mouse arrow over “Toons” Click on “My ToonDoos” from the drop down box Hover the mouse arrow over your toon, and click “Edit” Click on “Re-Open in Creator”

TURNING IN YOUR COMIC Make sure you have a title box, explained your amendment by applying it to everyday life, have at least 4 boxes, and have saved your comic in the correct format Close the Creator window Hover mouse arrow over “Toons” Click on “My ToonDoos” Hover mouse arrow over Toon Click on “Go to Page” When your Toon opens on the new page, Right Click on your Toon Click “Save Image As” Save the Toon as a picture to your folder IF YOUR TOON HAS ALL FOUR BOXES IN ONE PICTURE, upload the saved picture to Edmodo IF YOUR TOON IS IN MULTIPLE PICTURES: –Open PowerPoint; Choose Blank Presentation –Create a ONE slide PowerPoint with your Toon; Blank Layout; 4:3 Slide Size (change under DESIGN) Insert Picture(s) on slide and adjust sizes so that both strips will fit –Save PowerPoint using file name Amendment# - Names (Example: 3rdAmendment – Joe, Bob, Jay) –Upload your PowerPoint slide to Edmodo

IF YOU CANNOT VIEW YOUR SAVED TOON UNDER MY TOONDOOS: 1.Click on the CREATOR 2.Close the Layout box 3.Click on Start Here; Open 4.Select the Toon you want to Open and Click Open 5.Press CTRL and PrtSc OR FN and PrtSc (depending upon keyboard); Mac users press SHIFT and COMMAND and 3 6.Open PowerPoint 7.Choose a Blank Presentation; Change Slide Layout to Blank; Change Slide Size to 4:3 under DESIGN (if slide is widescreen). Don’t have PowerPoint? Go to Google Slides and follow same instructions. 8.Click Paste or Press CTRL and V 9.Under the FORMAT menu click CROP 10.Crop the image so that your comic strip is the only item visible. 11.Repeat steps 1-10 to add your second comic strip to the slide (put both comic strips on the same slide) 12.Save the PowerPoint as the amendment and your names (Ex. 3rdAmendment-John, Bob, Joe) 13.Upload PowerPoint to Edmodo – type a note, select attach file (first icon), send
