Developing the Carers IB A Carers RAS (Resource Allocation System) is currently being developed for carers of adults The Carers RAS will replace the current Carer’s Needs Assessment form The nature of a carer’s caring role will directly translate to cash payments A Carer’s Needs Assessment will assess the eligibility of every carer for a Carers IB

Personalisation: The BIGGER picture ‘Personalisation’ must be achieved by strategically commissioning services that offer flexibility and choice to carers. All carers services in Manchester will be tendered this year. The tender has been shaped by carers, carers service providers, and national and local policy.

All services must, under contract, consult with carers and react to changing needs Current good practice will continue, where possible A wide range of good quality services that compliment each other and are able to respond to carers’ needs giving carers increased control over the services that they receive.
