11 PCI Opportunities Seek Local Resources –Find out what local organizations are doing –Integrate them into your programming Involve the Community –Don’t limit programing to just NSBE Jr members only –NSBE can do MORE STEM programming –Local communities should know NSBE as a RESOURCE that advocates for MINORITIES in engineering

12 Chapter PCI Chair Responsibilities To coordinate and implement National PCI programs on the local levels. Carryout direction for the year as set by National/Regional PCI Chairs communicate with the regional PCI Chair, and PCI/NSBE Jr. chapters and members in regards to all PCI related business Coordinate and participate in NSBE Jr. and collegiate joint events

13 I need you NSBE –Be present in YOUR role –Understand your LIMITATIONS Build on them –Effectively USE your resources –COMMUNICATE regularly THINK beyond your expectations –BUILD good working relations within NSBE Regions, Zones, Chapters, WHQ –Be human and understand that everyone else is TOO!

14 How to Chapter/Reactivate Each PCI chapter must have at least 5 active members to charter or re-charter a new chapter. Each chapter must update/complete all relevant chapter information. This information includes but is not limited to chapter address, phone number, etc. Each chapter must submit a Chapter Constitution by sending it to Cecelia L. Pitt at cpitt@nsbe.org –Sample one can be found in the NSBE Jr Toolkit via nsbe.org Renewing chapters are not required to submit a constitution unless a modification has been made since the previous year.

15 Each chapter must declare their top 4 officers (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer). Each new chapter must be electronically approved by someone from the Membership Team that is a headquarters’ staff member. The chartering member must be a NSBE member.
