6 Concerns According to DOE, conference attendance numbers will not change within the next decade Compared to NA-PAC’11 held in 2011 New York City u879 attendees with 82% NA, 14% Europe, 4% Asia and SA – percentages about the same. No government restrictions, so ~720 NA attendees compared to ~405 for NA-PAC’13. uIPAC’13 in Shanghai and IPAC’14 in Dresden (poor NA attendance) ~ 5 months before Initial NA-PAC’13 budget was reduced to ~700 from previous almost 900 at NA-PAC’11. Two months prior to the conference reduced budget to ~400 attendees. Big problem with IEEE material for Dresden IPAC’14 membership desk According to DOE, conference attendance numbers will not change within the next decade Compared to NA-PAC’11 held in 2011 New York City u879 attendees with 82% NA, 14% Europe, 4% Asia and SA – percentages about the same. 7 PAST Update PAST 2014/07/19 Stan Schriber New PAC OC Bylaws working well. Actions Completed: At the PAST TC meeting (attended by John Verboncoeur) 2013/10/01 in Pasadena, it was decided to follow the IEEE- NPSS recommendation and become an elected TC – not an appointed one as it is now. On that basis, the TC decided Stan Schriber would remain the PAST TC Chair until elections in fall 2014 - no point having someone taking the role for a few months at this time. A Vice Chair, Ilan Ben-Zvi was named. New Const. and Bylaws were worked on and passed by IEEE- NPSS. Individuals were solicited to run for elected positions and all of this information was submitted prior to the IEEE deadline for elections this year. Other Work Continues IPAC MOU for 3 regions, MOU with Asia, IUPAP discussions, PAC OC web page on PAST page. New PAC OC Bylaws working well.
