Having these developments both at Mersin-Akkuyu and Sinop City, it is essential to enhance the technical readiness and technical knowledge about some crutial technical areas. Istanbul Gedik University and IIW Commission X have organised a one day event under 3rd.GEDIK TECHNOLOGY DAY by devoting the day to the topic of “Welding Technologies and Material & Welds & Component Assesments”. This is a first event of its kind in Turkey and surely Gedik University will follow up the topic with up coming Seminars, Workshops and Conferences by bringing the experts Together to provide an International scientific and technological platform. In addition to such events focusing on technical subjects, it is important to conduct Education and Training for the needed Workforce of the Turkey for the nuclear energy related industries. Istanbul Gedik University is preparing to launch such an Education and Training Programme in cooparation with Ministry of Energy and other Institutions. We thank you for the invited expert speakers for their valuable contributions. Dr. Mustafa Koçak, CEO Gedik Holding, Science & Technology Advisor of the Gedik University
