The feedback teams take notes. 5 minClarifying QuestionsThe feedback teams ask clarifying questions of the sharing team. 2 minIndividual ReflectionIndividuals on the feedback teams write down thoughts in preparation for the discussion. 15 minDiscussionThe feedback teams discuss the content of the presentation, and give warm and cool feedback. The sharing school remains silent and takes notes about the discussion. 5 minTeam ReflectionMembers from each team discuss and record their thoughts for the plan time later in the day. 10 minProcess Debrief (after last session only) Teams participate in open dialogue to discuss the benefits and learning of the sessions. 3 Title Description “The Why” (3 – 5 minutes) Explain a success story your staff has experienced this year through implementing a Multi-Tiered System of Supports. It could be a parent quote or interaction, a student quote or anecdote, or a staff experience. We want you to begin the story here because this represents the human aspect to our work – an indicator that this work is changing lives. Implementation Protocol Strengths & Next Steps (20 – 23 minutes total) For each of the five rubrics in the Implementation Protocol, please share: Strengths – What work in this category gives your school the most pride and why? Next Steps – As a result of examining your school’s progress with this rubric what might be some next steps? Focus Question (1 minute) Articulate an area in which you request feedback from the teams in the room. This will focus the listening teams’ feedback for this tuning protocol session. Closing (1 minute) Provide a thought, summary, quote, or other meaningful closing. SPOTLIGHT SESSION TEMPLATE

4 Notes A Tuning Protocol Facilitator will be pre-assigned for your room. This person will act as the facilitator, timekeeper and feedback monitor. Please use the PowerPoint template to guide your work. You may add slides and customize the template as needed however please leave the slides prompting the tuning protocol. Please observe FERPA guidelines in using any student photos or information in your presentation. Please involve each member of your team in the sharing process. Please remember that we always operate in a growth mindset, and approach your presentation in a way that honestly communicates your current reality with a growth-oriented outlook.
