6 Full-time and Part-time Students School profiles includes the following fields: Number of full-time students Number of part-time students Peak number of part-time students Total number of students eligible for NSLP Category 2 budgets may include part-time students, with the maximum being the peak number of students in the building. Example: 500 full-time student, 50 part-time students from 8:00 – 10:00, 75 part-time students from 1:00 – 3:00; Peak number of students = 575

8 Category 2 Cost Estimator Tool This web-based tool is provided by the Friday Institute for Educational Innovation at North Carolina State University to help schools estimate their equipment needs and budget for Category 2 upgrades. You will enter the following data into tool: Basic division information including number of students and classrooms per school Estimated number of cable runs (copper and fiber) needed per school After submission, you will receive a report with an estimated equipment list: Number of APs needed Number of high density APs needed Number of switches needed Estimated cost of equipment, cabling, and installation Available E-rate funding based on $150 per student budget Note: The equipment list and costs are estimates only. Common sense should be used when putting together a bill of materials and budget.
