2 What to do?  Explore the neighborhood!  Check your grades on HAC and plan how to be more successful next year!  Read books off the summer reading list  Download books from Open eBooks – get a user code from the main office.  Try different events or organizations around town! Free Track and Field Events at Manning Field Free kids races in the Lynn Woods on Thursday evenings 6 pm READ, READ, READ YMCA Boys and Girls Club Girls Inc. (Eureka ELL) 2016 Lynn Police Student Academy Lynn City Hall website posts activities such as Mayor Kennedy’s Summer Movie Series

3 Go on your own field trips  Remember to always exhibit GOOD CITIZENSHIP and the DREAM  Check out free museums on Fridays in MA  Go to a beach in a different community  Take a walk in the Lynn Woods  Venture into Boston and see all the free sites

4 HAC (Home Access Center)  HAC is a program used by PARENTS/GUARDIANS to:  “Assist in the communication of important educational information” AND is “designed to be easy to use and equally as easy in sharing information between teachers, school officials, and parents.”

5 Accessing HAC  Go to www.lynnschools.orgwww.lynnschools.org  Hover over Resources.  Hover over For Parents.  Select Home Access Center.

6 Logging into HAC  On the HAC page via www.lynnschools.org, you will see a link that says, “CLICK HERE TO LOGIN” – click that link. www.lynnschools.org  Enter your USERNAME and PASSWORD to access your HAC account.

7 Open eBooks  Open eBooks is an application on apple or android used by PARENTS/GUARDIANS to:  “give students access to a digital library of thousands of books for FREE!”

10 Summer Reading Lists Students entering Grades 6,7, & 8:  All students must read two books- 1 Fiction & 1 Non-Fiction and complete a project for each book read.  Lists of suggested authors and project descriptions will be included on the Summer Reading brochure that is given to each student before the last day of school. Information may also be found on the Lynn Public Schools’ website and at the Lynn Library. Your student’s English teacher will also review all Summer Reading requirements with each class. Students entering Grade 9:  Each high school has different reading requirements. Students will be provided with information and/or a book to read the last week of school. Check the high school websites for additional information on Grade 9 Summer Reading.
