Equinox by zoe closs-lopez p.7 noun- the time when the sun crosses the plan e of the earth's equator, making night and day of approximately equal length all over the earth and occurring about March 21

Interesting Facts The term equinox comes from the Latin word equinoxium, meaning "equality between day and night.“ Easter always falls on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the vernal equinox. There are usually two equinoxes in a year. Equinoxes do not always occur on the same day each year, and generally will occur about 6 hours later each year.

What are Equinox? Equinoxes occur when the axis of rotation of the earth is exactly parallel to the direction of motion of the earth around the sun. This happens on just two days of the year, the spring and autumn equinoxes. This means that day length is exactly the same.
