The Age of Discovery At the end of the Renaissance new technology made oceanic exploration possible for the 1 st time. European countries like Spain, Portugal, England, France, and the Netherlands explored and colonized places around the world.

NEW World and OLD World During the Age of Discovery people from all over the world interacted for the 1 st time in world history. Old World= Europe, Asia, and Africa. New World = The Americas.

GOD EUROPEANS WANTED TO SPREAD CHRISTIANITY AROUND THE WORLD BECAUSE THEY THOUGHT OTHER RELIGIONS WERE NOT AS GOOD.

God THEY WANT TO CONVERT (CHANGE) THE RELIGION OF NON-CHRISTIANS, ESPECIALLY IN THE AMERICAS AND AFRICA.

GLORY MANY EXPLORERS WANT TO BECOME FAMOUS FOR ALL OF HISTORY. MAKING A NEW DISCOVERY WAS AN EASY WAY TO BECOME FAMOUS AND POWERFUL.

GOLD MANY EUROPEANS WERE GREEDY AND WANTED TO GET RICH BY DISCOVERY GOLD AND OTHER VALUABLE RESOURCES AROUND THE WORLD.

Gold=Power EUROPE BECAME THE RICHEST AND MOST POWERFUL CONTINENT IN THE WORLD DURING AND AFTER THE AGE OF EXPLORATION.

Trade The Europeans set up a system of Trans- Atlantic Trade Routes. These trade routes helped them become even richer.
