3 What is the Global Logistic Associate (GLA) Program? The GLA program gives individuals an introductory overview of the skills required by for logistics and supply chain entry level positions. The GLA program is offered in conjunction with the online study materials, the GLA Student Study Guide and the GLA Online Study Tool. An APICS endorsement shows a commitment to the profession that leads to a sense of accomplishment, demonstrates value to an employer, enhances earning potential and provides a path to career advancement. After earning the GLA endorsement, candidates will be able to display the GLA credential after their name and will be able to verify their status in the APICS Credential Verification system. In addition, the GLA endorsement does not expire and does not requirement maintenance.

5 Avatars and Online Learning The avatar offers learners a more engaging and memorable experience, encouraging higher adoption and usage rates through improved results. Although avatars have traditionally been seen as having appeal for a younger audience, vendors are finding a mass market in the corporations and higher education sectors.

7 Opportunities for Partners The GLA program is available to schools, companies and APICS training partners. APICS partners and schools receive preferred pricing. Partners may offer a standalone course or provide instructors for non- credit programs in local community colleges. Materials available in a bundled package: student e-workbooks, Avatar program and exam credit. Expand customer base by reaching into LTD at the pre-professional level— one of the fastest growing supply chain sector in the US.

8 GLA Instructor Information APICS provides an Instructor Guide and a set of PowerPoints for instructors to use when teaching GLA. An instructor who purchases a GLA Instructor Guide will gain access to the “GLA Instructor Dashboard,” where they can download an electronic copy of the GLA Instructor Guide and the PowerPoints.

10 Case Competition – Finals!  The case competition supports student competitions to promote education and encourage interest in the profession. Students earn cash awards and recognition for winning entries.  Occurs the two days prior to APICS 2016, September 23–24, Washington DC. One team represents each North American district and other teams represent International student teams  This online-based simulation provides a value chain learning experience for the students. These real-life scenarios allows them to experience and learn about: − The power of actual organizational alignment − How a well articulated supply chain strategy grows an organization − Tactical activities and knowledge sharing situations

11 APICS 2016 Student Programming  New student-focused programming will be available for students APICS 2016. Programming will include:  Panel discussions regarding: Tools and skills employers are currently looking for in the marketplace Hot industry topics Interviewing techniques APICS member benefit overview and how take advantage of them  Industry job and internship fair  Inclusion in Leadership Summit activities (Saturday afternoon)  Question and answer session with the APICS Career Coach, Rodney Apple  Town hall question and answer session with APICS CEO Abe Eshkenazi
