Rationale for Letter and Number Writing The majority of the Progressing and Standard Not Mastered scores are from reversals. Some students are writing the correct letters or numbers but, they are reversing/writing them backwards.

2 nd Grade Spring Data Analysis Odd/Even Assessment TeacherDATA Teacher 120/20 Teacher 220/20 Teacher 321/22 Teacher 421/21 Teacher 522/22 Teacher 622/22 Teacher 719/20 *Total Students: 14799% mastered skill Comments/Suggestions: This skill is taught daily during calendar time and continues throughout the school year. We believe students were successful because of their frequent exposure to the content.

2 nd Grade Spring Data Analysis Geometry/Fractions TeacherDATA Teacher 115/21 Teacher 219/20 Teacher 319/21 Teacher 420/21 Teacher 516/22 Teacher 617/22 Teacher 720/20 *Total Students: 14786% mastered skill Comments/Suggestions: Students struggled with the fraction open response question. Teachers suggested we need to model and have more hands-on activities for this open response.

2 nd Grade Spring Data Analysis Time TeacherDATA Teacher 111/21 Teacher 221/22 Teacher 319/21 Teacher 412/19 Teacher 516/22 Teacher 614/21 Teacher 712/19 *Total Students: 14572% mastered skill Comments/Suggestions: Time is a real-life skill we need to reteach and take a summative assessment later in the school year. A suggestion was made to take several formatives throughout the school year. Students struggled with the open response question. We need more modeling practice writing to demonstrate knowledge of time based on a picture. Another was to deconstruct the standards to teach in small chunks.

2 nd Grade Spring Data Analysis Biography – Famous Americans Report TeacherDATA Teacher 119/20 Teacher 216/20 Teacher 317/21 Teacher 419/19 Teacher 517/20 Teacher 619/21 Teacher 718/22 Total Students: 14387% mastered skill Comments/Suggestions: The students who scored below 80% did not complete their published writing, snow days played a factor during the writing process, and attendance was an issue too in completing the reports.

2 nd Grade Spring Data Analysis Main Idea – Formative Assessment TeacherDATA Teacher 118/21 Teacher 218/20 Teacher 320/22 Teacher 417/20 Teacher 518/20 Teacher 616/20 Teacher 711/17 Total Students: 14084% mastered skill Comments/Suggestions: Students are performing at a higher skill level this year than in year’s past. This skill is a much higher order thinking skill for students to grasp.

2 nd Grade Spring Data Analysis Compare/Contrast – Summative Assessment (Lon Po Po) TeacherDATA Teacher 119/21 Teacher 222/22 Teacher 318/21 Teacher 415/19 Teacher 517/20 Teacher 620/20 Teacher 719/19 Total Students: 14292% master skill Comments/Suggestions: Students did well because they had prior knowledge of the story and we used multiple resources to teach compare and contrast. We also utilized real-life experiences from attending the opera and play to teach compare/contrast.

2 nd Grade Data Analysis Compare/Contrast – Summative Assessment (Space) TeacherDATA Teacher 115/19 Teacher 217/21 Teacher 317/21 Teacher 414/19 Teacher 511/18 Teacher 613/17 Teacher 719/19 Total Students: 13479% master skill Comments/Suggestions: This informational text was confusing to the students because of what was expected. Students tried compare and contrast the content of the text and not the text themselves. A suggestion was to revamp the formative and summative assessments.
