Is the role traditional to women? Or is the woman breaking her traditional role?
Is the text misogynistic or patriarchal?

Queer critics look at the opposition of traditional gender roles.
They may ask themselves:
Are there characters in the text that don’t take on traditional roles?
Are any characters put in situations that challenge their gender roles?
Do characters act differently than their gender is expected to?
