Inventory Control Oversees Inventory control at POD Escorts the delivery drivers into the POD and performs inventory of all deliveries Informs POD Command Staff when supplies are low Gives POD Supervisor hourly update of supplies for hourly report to the Health Department Operation Center (DOC)

Vaccine Temperature Control Monitors temperature of coolers and records it on the Temperature Log each hour Takes measures to get vaccine back into temperature range if it falls outside the range

Delivers vaccine to stations when they hold up the blue card Signs out vaccine from POD Supply Room Fills out Vaccine Runner’s Inventory Log to keep track of vaccine given to each station. Take a few minutes to go over Vaccine Runner’s Log form Looks for inventory discrepancies at each station and reports any log inventory issues to POD Supervisor Vaccine Runners need a blue badge to access vaccine

Delivers supplies other than vaccines to each station when they hold up the red card Signs out supplies from POD Supply Room Supply Runners require red badges to access supplies

Ensure temperature logs are maintained for each cooler or refrigeration unit Check the package insert to see what the manufacturer's recommendations are for the temperature range vaccine should be kept Make sure vaccine coming in from delivery is at proper temperature and has a Temperature Log Sheet along with it. Make a note on the log what time it arrived at your facility and that you checked it.

If a cooler does not seem to be holding at the proper temperature, it may be too full or it may be being opened too often. You can add more ice packs, or take a smaller amount and put it in a different cooler for vaccine runners to take out of and fill that cooler up from a larger one. Sometimes, ice packs can be added to refrigeration units. If vaccine is out of temperature for more than two hours, consult with your local health department. They may want you to discard the vaccine. It is vital that you check the temperature every hour and log the temperature!!!

At this time, read and understand your duties and responsibilities as discussed in your assigned job action sheet. Please hold your questions until everyone in our group is ready to participate and listen.
