3 WHY PEOPLE CHOOSE TO BECOME VEGETARIANS  Compassion for animals: Many people do not want to kill or harm animals.  Aesthetic considerations: Some individuals do not like the taste or appearance of meat.

4 WHY PEOPLE CHOOSE TO BECOME VEGETARIANS  Ecological reasons: Every aspect of meat production, from raising livestock to slaughterhouse operations, presents ecological questions.  Spiritual reasons: Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, etc. Help!

7 Types of Vegetarians  Pescatarian: those who abstain from eating all meat and animal flesh with the exception of fish.

8 Types of Vegetarians  Lacto-vegetarian: Eats dairy products, vegetables, grains, legumes, fruits, and nuts.  Ovo-vegetarian: Eats eggs, vegetables, grains, legumes, fruits, and nuts.  Lacto-ovo vegetarian: Eats dairy products, eggs, vegetables, grains, legumes, fruits, and nuts.

9 Types of Vegetarians  Partial- vegetarian: Eats seafood, poultry, eggs, dairy products, vegetables, grains, legumes, fruits, and nuts. Strictly limits certain meats, such as red meats.

10 Types of Vegetarians  Vegan: Eats food only from plant sources; vegetables, grains, legumes, fruits, and nuts.
