4. The elderly population In teh coming years, Istat suggests that the elderly population in FVG will continue to increase. In Friuli Venezia Giulia for each child under the age of 15 we find approximately 2 seniors over 65. In Italy, as reported by Istat has been noticed an increase in the number of elderly: from 18,7% in 2002 to 20,6% in 2011

5. Elderly and residency There are 194 rest homes surveyed in 2013 in the Region, with a total capacity of 10.999 beds which are used by more than 2000 self-sufficient people.

6. Elderly and residency In this context, is it possible rethink to the needs of the “frail” elderly from the point of view of health and social, economic and familiar conditions, with interventions and quality solutions and limited costs,different from the traditional rest homes?
