Focuses of the Resurrection

* Premise: The "focus" of the Resurrection is to look beyond the crucifixion and death of Jesus. The resurrection message celebrates the successes of the cross. The Father's plan for our restoration enabled Jesus to endure the horrific suffering at the cross that literally overpowered death, hell, and the grave. It is embracing the fact that by His stripes we are healed from the consequences of sin and the corruptive decay of the old man. His resurrection from the dead is ''the'' proof of these accomplishments. It is understanding this eternal truth; Jesus’s resurrection has made the way for a new man and a new creation! It is why the Father sent Him into the world so that we should not perish, but have the quality of Heaven's life, now and forever. Resurrection power transforms our lives with His life and empowers us to cooperate with the Father’s purpose of bringing Heaven to earth and restoring the world back to His original design.

2 nd Peter 3(13) But according to His promise we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells. *Kosmos- Gods Creation and human cultures of complex order Revelation 21(1-2) Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea. 2 And I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. Problem: Rom. 3(23) For all have sinned and Fall short of the glory of God. Solution: Col 1(27b) To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

* The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you. 21 the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay. 22 For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. 23 And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children, including the new bodies he has promised us. 24 We were given this hope when we were saved.

2 Cor. 5(17-19) Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; (or there is a new creation) the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. 18 Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the *world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation. "God so loved the *World" Jn 3(16) *Kosmos God's creation and human cultures of complex order Original mandate = Kabash the Chaos Genesis 1:28 Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it. (Kabash-- to subject, subdue, force, keep under, and bring into bondage.)

Eph 2(1-2) And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, 2 in which you formerly walked according to the course of this *world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience John 16(11) (Jesus sends Holy Spiri) and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this *world has been judged. All the world's people and systems are and will be touched by the power of resurrection. “For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.” Matt 5(45b) ESV *Kosmos-- God's creation and human cultures of complex order.

* Hebrews 2(4) Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself like wise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil. * John 10(10) The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. The serpent’s head was crushed at the Cross. The power of the resurrection enforces this Victory. (positionally and progressively)

1Cor.15 (21-26) For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. 23 But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, after that those who are Christ’s at His coming, 24 then comes the end, when He hands over the kingdom to the God and Father, when He has abolished all rule and all authority and power. 25 For He must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet. 26 The last enemy that will be abolished is death. John 3(16) For God so loved the *world; that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. *Kosmos– God's creation and human cultures of complex order.
