3 Dream Job Dementia Clinical Nurse Specialist
Provides assessment, support, referral and education to both client’s and their carers; Works within a multidisciplinary community team; Provides further research to assist in developing evidence-based practice and models of care; Offers effective interventions for healthcare needs; and Provides education and professional development to other staff members etc.

4 SWOT Analysis Strengths: Weaknesses: Opportunities: Threats:
Bachelor of Science (Nursing) (Finishing December 2015) Understanding Dementia, Online Course with University of Tasmania Over 4 years experience within a professional office environment Strong communication skills, and well developed time management skills Weaknesses: Very little experience within the healthcare profession Mortgage (unable to move rural for work) I do not deal well with confrontations Opportunities: Not many people want to work within dementia nursing Studying opportunities for dementia education are not competitive I enjoy working with older adults Threats: I don’t live close to the CBD Financial stressed, can’t afford further full-time study Economical changes could affect job availability Dementia nursing may appear ‘dull’ or ‘boring’ to others

5 Goals To be more confident in confrontational situations
To become more educated/skilled in recognising the symptoms/onset of dementia To explore other interventions/treatment for dementia (non-pharmacological) Gain more insight into what it’s like for the friends and family of someone with dementia To study Bachelor of Dementia Care with the University of Tasmania (or similar course/universities)
