Rick Riordan Heroes of Olympus Percy Jackson and the Olympians

Some Books Rick Riordan has written Percy Jackson and the Olympians The Lightning thief The sea of monsters The titan’s curse The battle of the labyrinth The last Olympians Heroes of Olympus The Lost Hero The Son of Neptune The Mark of Athena The House of Hades The Blood of Olympus

Genre The genre of these books are Adventure. It contains a lot action, narrow escapes and surprises. There is a surprise or a thriller at every point in the b0ok.

Biography: Facts Rick was born on June 5, 1964 in San Antonio, TX. He lives with his wife and two sons, Haley and Patrick Speedy his pet dog is a Basenji/terrier mix. He also has 3 black cats. Rick doesn’t have a favorite book because he like each of them for a different reason. His favorite character is probably Grover, Tyson, or Bes because they’re fun to write about. In his Spare time he likes to read, swim, play guitar, and travel with his family.

Rick attended Alamo Heights High School in San Antonio. He worked as an editor for the school newspaper. He also won third place in state for UIL feature writing. Rick began college at North Texas State to be a guitarist but transferred to the University of Texas. He graduated with a double major in English and History. He also got certified to teach English and History from UT San Antonio. Last he did his student teaching in the San Antonio Independent School District. Biography: education

When Rick was in college, he worked for three years as the music director at a summer camp called, Camp Capers. This camp gave him the idea for Camp Half-Blood. His first full-time job was teaching middle school in New Braunfels, Texas. Later he moved to San Francisco with his wife. There he taught at Presidio Hill School for eight years. After his two sons were born, he moved back to San Antonio and taught at Saint Mary’s Hall for six years. He taught mythology almost every year. It was his favorite thing, and the students always enjoyed it. Then he stopped teaching to become a full-time writer. Biography: Work Experience

My favorite book is the Battle of the Labyrinth from the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. The battle of the Labyrinth is a very exciting, action- packed, and full-of- surprises book. It all starts with Percy’s freshman Orientation. He apparently gets attacked by demon cheerleaders, which is not uncommon being a half-blood. When Percy goes to camp he doesn’t know that he is going to off on another quest. Kronos’ army prepares to invade camp. One of the entrances was in the heart of camp which means they could easily invade since they didn’t have to go through the magical boarders of camp. To stop them, Percy and his friends have set out on a quest through the Labyrinth. My Favorite Book

Why I like his books. I like Rick riordan’s books because they fun to read. They’re full surprises. At every turn in the books, there is something that pops-up at you. The adventures make you imagine that you are part of it too. Even though he adds monsters to it, he makes them so realistic like it could happen right now. Rick describes how and why the events take place. For example, he describes why the monsters and Mount Olympus is in America. Also the books are very descriptive. They form a picture in your head, and you can see everything happening. Last, it exposes you to Greek mythology, which is amazing.
