2 Healthy Schools London Awards Review of current policies and practice, ensuring basic ‘Healthy Schools’ standards are in place. Plan one universal action and one targeted action to improve health in school, explain how impact will be measured. Having carried out silver actions, evaluate impact, what worked well, challenges.

6 Health and Wellbeing in Schools Service IDENTIFY AND ANALYSE HEALTH NEEDS PLAN AND IMPLEMENT ACTION TO MEET NEEDS EVALUATE OUTCOMES Is everyone’s health the same? If not, why not? What can we do to help less healthy people to be more healthy? Who can support us do this? Did what we do work? If it did, how can we make sure this continues to happen?

7 New Children and Young People Survey March 2016 We hope to use answers to this survey and other local health information to provide School Health Profiles IDENTIFY AND ANALYSE HEALTH NEEDS

8 This will help you to identify health needs e.g. We’ll then work with other services to help you develop action plans to improve these outcomes –Active travel –School nurses –Havering Sports Collective –Havering Catering Services –Food Growing Schools: London PLAN AND IMPLEMENT ACTION

9 What can we measure to enable us to see if our actions have had an impact? –Percentage of children travelling actively to school –Percentage of children eating all their vegetables at lunchtime How can we sustain the things that have worked well? –Embed in lesson plans, peer-led roles, everyday routine –Continue healthy culture and ethos of school EVALUATE OUTCOMES
