Ephesians 6:10-20

 Written by Paul in prison  Written about 60-62AD  First three chapters: what we believe and why  Final three chapters: how to live in four spheres of relationship:  With the church; in unity (4:3,13)  With society; with neighbours (4:23)  With family and workplace (other meaningful relationships) (5:21-6:9)  With the rulers, powers and authorities (6:10-20)

 To stand  …so you can take your stand (11)  …so you may be able to stand (13)  After you have done everything…stand (13)  Stand firm, then… (14)

 The devil, and demons, are real  The devil is cunning and deceptive  The devil is aggressive and cruel  The devil is a thief  The devil hates what is precious to you and to God  The devil cannot abide the presence of God  The devil is NOT on the same level as Jesus!

 …the Belt of truth buckled around your waist  …the Breastplate of righteousness in place  …with your Feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace  …take up the shield of faith (to extinguish the flaming arrows of the evil one)  …take the helmet of salvation  …and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God

 Heavenly Father, thank you for granting to me every spiritual blessing in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.  I receive those blessings into my life today, and I ask the Holy Spirit to bring all those blessings into my life this day.  Thank you for the blood of Jesus. Wash me once more with his blood from every sin and stain and evil device.  I put on your armour—the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the readiness of the gospel of peace, the helmet of salvation. I take up the shield of faith and the sword of the Spirit, the Word of God, and I wield these weapons against the Evil One in the power of God.  I choose to pray at all times in the Spirit, to be strong in you, Lord, and in your might.  John Eldredge http://www.focus-on-prayer.com/Daily-Prayer.htmlhttp://www.focus-on-prayer.com/Daily-Prayer.html
