3. Exercise Physiologists Chris Coffey Steve Daugherty Patients are paired one-on-one with an exercise physiologist and, if needed, a nutritionist or another medical professional.

4. Testing Room Treadmill used for VO2 Max Testing Stationary Bike used for VO2 Max Testing Fitness Assessment 360 degree assessment of athlete’s current physical health and fitness. Review medical history, physician referral (if any) and additional fitness interests or needs. Basis for Personalized Training Plan – assessment of athlete’s goals, body type, age, and training timetable. Physical testing includes: Height & weight Percent body fat Percent muscle mass Hand-grip strength Sit & reach Vertical jump 5-10-5 shuttle run Metabolic tests (e.g.,VO2max, anaerobic threshold) Wingate Test – leg power Technogym Wingate Test – Arm Power Condition-specific tests: Spirometry – needed for asthma concerns Basal Metabolic Rate – more specific calorie consumption needs.

5. Initial Consult – 90 mins. Confidential, 360 degree assessment of patient’s current physical health and fitness. Review medical history, physician referral (if any) and additional fitness interests or needs. In-depth lifestyle, personality and goals inventory. Dress in comfortable fitness clothes and footwear Follow up consult – 60 mins Review patient’s test results from initial screening. Receive personalized fitness and nutrition plan. For children/adolescents, plan will include a component for the family. Pair patient with a complementary exercise physiologist. Receive personalized resource binder. Answer patient’s questions. Provide results to the patient’s physician, if they have been referred. If time, do a short introductory workout. Personalized Treatment Plan – approximately three months Each plan is individualized for the patient (and his/her family) based on medical condition, lifestyle, physical and emotional needs, and goals. Both fitness and nutrition are addressed in the plan. Patients will have scheduled supervised workouts with his/her exercise physiologist. Patient and families are encouraged to follow-through with at-home exercise and nutrition recommendations. I.EM.PHIT will conduct periodical re-testing to track progress; results to the patient’s physician, if they have been referred.
