4  Basic Life Support (BLS)  Performed by Emergency Medical Technician – Basic (EMT-B)  67 EMT-B’s Currently On-Staff  Provides Basic Life Support to Persons who are Sick, Hurt or Injured  EMT-B’s Perform CPR, Artificial Respiratory Basic Airway Management, Oxygen Administration, Vital Signs, Splinting and Bandaging  170 Hours of Training Required CURRENT LEVEL OF RFD EMS RESPONSE

5  Intermediate Life Support (ILS)  Performed by Emergency Medical Technician – Intermediate (EMT-I) – Currently Called Advanced EMT  141 Advanced EMTs Currently On-Staff  Provides IV Therapy  Performs Enhanced Airway Management (Intubation)  Utilizes Expanded Drug Protocol (Dextrose, Albuterol, Diphenhydramine)  296 Hours of Training Required CURRENT LEVEL OF RFD EMS RESPONSE

6  Advanced Life Support (ALS)  Performed by Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic  27 Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedics Currently On-Staff  Highest Skilled Pre-Hospital Provider  Provides EKG Monitoring and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (Manual Defibrillation)  Utilizes Expanded Drug Protocol (Cardiac, Pain)  1,560 Hours of Training Required PROPOSED RFD ALS RESPONSE
