2. Territory
Mississippian cultures ranged from areas between the Mississippi Valley into Alabama, Georgia, and Florida.
The largest city within the tribe is Cahokia, which spread across 6 square miles with a population of 20,000 people.

4. Environment/landscape
The Mississippian tribe primarily lived in the valleys surrounding the Mississippi River. On the few plateaus in the Mississippian territories they built temples to praise the gods.
The tribeís houses were built in orderly rows and around open plazas. The main agricultural fields lay outside the tribeís cities.

6. Food Most common crop: Corn and maize.
Women were the cartakers of the farms.
Crops that were grown include corn,maize beans, squash, pumpkin, and sunflower.
Becuase of fertal farm land, the were able to use intense farming techniques

7. Housing Thatched roofs and mud plaster walls.
Arranged around open plazas.
Mounds for chiefs houses, as well as for places for praying.

8. Transportation Canoes used for transportation.
Insides of canoe burned to be more water resistant.
Adze- a tool used to carve the canoe.

9. Cahokia
Cahokia is one of the largest city and tribes under the regional name of Mississippian. The name originates from a sub-tribe of the Illini, who came from the east not reaching the area until the 1600ís.
