28. Machinable Mail Carrier Identified Forwards (CIF) Machinable CIF mail is prepared in trays or half trays with tray labels identifying it as C ID FWDS. NO OTHER LABEL IS ACCEPTABLE FOR THIS MAIL. This mail should include machinable, forwardable ACS pieces. The placard to identify this to the proper location and operation at the plant should say:

30. Machinable Mail Return To Sender (RTS) Machinable RTS mail is prepared in trays or half trays with separator cards placed behind the mail for each of the 12 endorsements for RTS. With tray labels identifying it as RTS LTRS PARS. NO OTHER LABEL IS ACCEPTABLE FOR THIS MAIL. This mail should include machinable, Return To Sender ACS pieces. The placard to identify this to the proper location and operation at the plant should say:

32. PLEASE DO NOT MIX UP THE CIF and RTS TRAY LABELS OR PLACARDS. THEY ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE. IMPORTANT!!!!!

33. NON-Machinable Mail Computerized Forwarding System (CFS) Non-Machinable mail with a valid, current COA order on file is to be sent to the CFS unit for processing. This mail, which includes non-machinable letters, flats and parcels, should be separated by ZIP code, prepared in tubs with a label identifying it as CFS mail for the CFS unit at South Suburban P&DC 60499. The placard to identify this for the proper location at the plant should say CFS Operation 797 60499.

35. NON-Machinable Mail Computerized Forwarding System (CFS) Non-machinable mail with an ACS endorsement and a valid, current COA order on file is to be sent to the CFS Unit for processing. This mail, which includes non-machinable letters, flats and parcels, should be separated by ZIP code, prepared in a tub with a label identifying it as CFS mail for the CFS unit at South Suburban P&DC 60499. This mail should also have a placard identifying it as ACS mail..

36. NON-Machinable Mail Computerized Forwarding System (CFS) Non-machinable mail with an ACS endorsement without a valid, current COA order on file that is to be returned to sender is to be sent to the CFS Unit for processing. This mail, which includes non-machinable letters, flats and parcels, should be separated by ZIP code, prepared in tubs with a label identifying it as CFS mail for the CFS unit at South Suburban P&DC 60499. This mail should be separated by ZIP code AND reason for return and should have a placard identifying it as ACS Return to Sender mail.

37. NON-Machinable Mail Computerized Forwarding System (CFS) All RTS mail with a Deceased endorsement must receive special handling. · Mail endorsed with Deceased that are also ACS pieces must be identified as ACS and marked with the letter P. and sent to CFS for processing. · All other Deceased letter mail pieces are to be bundled with a placard attached and sent to the P&DC for processing in the Primary Manual Operation 030.

38. NON-Machinable Mail LOCAL HANDLING - NOT CFS Non-machinable mail, non-ACS, without a valid, current COA order on file that is to be returned to sender is to be handled locally. This mail includes non-machinable letters, flats and parcels.
