5 Evaporation The sun heats up liquid water in rivers, lakes, oceans, etc. and turns it into vapor (gas).

6 Condensation Water vapor (gas) in air gets cold and changes back into liquid water, forming clouds.

7 Precipitation When the air can’t hold any more moisture and the clouds get heavy. The water falls back to the earth in the form of rain, hail, sleet or snow.
