THE SPORT OF TURKISH MEETING: SKIING AND SNOWBOARDING Turkey is actually a very mountainous country. There are ski resorts in: Udu lag, Erciyes, Saklikent and Bozdag

ULU DAG German thought skiing was easy, Lucia didn´t and Alejandro considered it as a risky sport. We all valorized skiing as a good experience. Ulu Dag is a mountain where the ski resort that we attended is placed. Ulu Dag has an altitude of 2,543 m. It´s the highest mountain in Marmara region.

THE HOST HIGH SCHOOL We were surprised that the host high school was a boarding school because these centers are unusual in Spain. It was a great experience.

TURKISH HIGH SCHOOL VILLAGE The Turkish high school is located in a small rural village 50 km far from Bursa city and closed to Uludag National Park, where the ski center is placed.

Turkish people are very nice, sociable, generous and do their best to make you feel as much at ease as possible. They are mostly Muslims and the country is officially a secular state. Spanish and Turkish students

ACCOMODATION IN TURKEY The Turkish high school is also a boarding school. It has nearly 200 students and all of them live in during weekdays and many 7 days per week. Students dedicate 3 hours of study at their classroom every evening. Students take part at the internal organization (cleaning dishes, sweeping…) View from playground Bedroom for 4 studentsComputers´ room

At boarding school, we took part within their daily life during 2 days. We had the chance to share good moments with the Turkish and other students playing basketball, watching football matches, chatting... We learnt interesting things from 4 other countries, explained to other students some Spanish behaviors and costumes. A typical class at the Turkish host high school

In Turkish families, the father usually is the one who earns money. The mother usually works as a housewife. A couple of Turkish customs: Having lunch and dinner on the floor and shaking forehead to greet friends.
