3 S TEP BY STEP GUIDE TO TURN A M AC B OOK INTO A W IRELESS R OUTER Click on Apple menu and locate System Preferences and then select Network. In the Network window, open the left Menu and click on AirPort network. Check if your AirPort network setting is on. If it is not on, press “Turn AirPort On” button. When the Drop down menu of “Network Name” will open, click on “Create Network”. Fill the following fields with your desired SSID and Password and press Create to create the network. Now your router is set but it has not started sharing yet. To configure sharing settings, open System Preferences again and select Sharing. In the Sharing section, turn on “Internet Sharing” feature by ticking on the checkbox next to it in the left menu. You will receive a follow up message asking you to confirm if you want to start the internet sharing. Select Start option. In the drop down menu of “Share internet from”, select your internet source. Generally it is Ethernet. In the section, “To Computers Using”, select Wi-Fi, this will open another window. In the Wi-Fi window, choose AirPort Network.
