4 “Seventh Grade” example answers 1.My reaction to Victor’s lie was nervousness. I was nervous that his teacher was going to keep pressuring him to speak French and then his whole class, including Teresa, would know that he was lying. 2.Victor should maybe be ashamed of his actions because Teresa may eventually find out that he was lying and then her feelings for him may change. 4.I think his teacher keeps the truth to himself because he realizes he is trying to impress Teresa and maybe Mr. Beuller has been in a similar situation before and understands Victor’s reasons for doing it. 5.I think Teresa is a kind girl. She speaks to him kindly in the story and tells him she is impressed with him being able to speak French. 6.The story would be different because we would not know what Victor was thinking like we do now; we would understand her better than him. 7.People feel the need to create false impressions of themselves to please or impress people. In 6 th grade a little girl in my class used to tell me that her parents always rode in limos. This was not true, but I think she told me that so that I would think she was rich. She thought it would make me like her more, even though it did not.
