2  A flood is a lot of water that can drown people.  Floods can damage thousands of people’s houses.  Floods rarely happen.

3  Floods occur on broad and flat lands typically situated on the banks of rivers or major water ways.  Floods are basically caused by heavy rains.  Floods usually occur along streams and rivers.  Flash floods can occur almost anywhere.

4  This will tell if the flood is getting worse or better  You put the stream gauge in the water then you take it out of the water and measure

5  If a place gets too much rain it is called a flood. A rain storm causes a flood. Just 6 inches can knock out/blackout a human. Flash flood means a flood is possible.  Flash flood warning means a flood watch is possible.

6  Take the necessary precautions if you are in a flood.  Flooding is actually or is immediate in the warning area.
