Radio Made by Polina Khrestuykhina Form 8 “B”

Radio in Russia Alexander Popov is a Russian physicist, one of the inventors of the radio. He showed his invention at 25 April 1895 at St. Petersburg's University. Alexander Popov

Radio in Europe and the USA However people from other countries don't think so. Germans suppose that Hertz had invented the radio. Americans think that it was made by Tesla, other people say Marconi had made it. Heinrich Hertz Nicola Tesla Marconi

The invention In 1895, Marconi built a wireless system capable of transmitting signals at long distances. From Marconi's experiments, the phenomenon that transmission range is proportional to the square of antenna height is known as "Marconi's law". This formula represents a physical law that radio devices use. Heinrich Rudolf Hertz and many others demonstrated radio wave propagation on a laboratory scale.

British Marconi Using various patents, the company called British Marconi was established in 1897 and began communication between coast radio stations and ships at sea.

FM and television start In 1933, FM radio was patented by inventor Edwin H. Armstrong.

Radio today Nowadays the radio doesn’t have as great importance as TV or the Internet, we listen to it when there is no computer, but it has some advantages. It doesn’t damage our eyes and is mobile.

Answer the question:  Does the radio have any more advantages?  Who patented FM radio?  Complete the sentence: … invented the radio in Russia.
