Barr, MotorolaSlide 6 Status and Plans for TG3 Construction of Initial Draft Goal: MAC/PHY standard of high rate WPAN Schedule Goal: Produce a Standard by 2H 2002 Next Steps Goal: Complete integration of draft revisions due to LB12 comment resolution, May 2002. Issue 20-day recirculation ballot. Resolve comments and prepare additional recirculation or sponsor ballot, July 2002. Sponsor ballot August/September 2002.

Barr, MotorolaSlide 7 LB12 Comment Resolution Status Original ballot had 69% approval End of January had 84% approval End of March only 2 comments unresolved Mandatory security suite selection required additional letter ballot (LB16) to select final ECC text for recirculation ballot. All text ready for final integration during May Interim meeting. Only XX voters have not approved resolution of their comments.

LB12 Post Mortem Analysis Monday afternoon. Most of the draft editing sessions will be ad hoc. Discussion of symmetric security suite method Tuesday and Thursday (8AM) Thursday afternoon (3:30 PM) we will decide whether to use ballot resolution committee (BRC) or continue with current comment resolution process.

12 doc.: IEEE 802.15-02/188r0 Submission May 2002 Dr. John R. Barr, MotorolaSlide 12 Group Ethics We have found the enemy and the enemy is us. Several discussion threads involving the selection of security suites have recently resulted in a significant amount of poorly worded statements that have incited poorly worded responses into situations where observers have questioned the ethical behavior of some participants. We need a policy for handling participants who flagrantly continue this type of behavior: –TG3 chair privately suggests a participant stop certain behavior –TG3 chair publicly requests a participant stop certain behavior –Flagrant behavior results in termination of participant status: Remove right to post email to reflector for 30-days –Chair, Vice Chair and Webmaster will review and act –Participant will still receive postings TG3 chair issues letter to WG chair identifying flagrant behavior
