UIC students in exchange program from 2008 to 2016: DMB:73 DHSS:82 DST: 5 Total: 160 Exchange seats available for 2016 fall semester: 35 seats at 13 partner universities in 5 different countries.

Candidates must have demonstrated excellent academic performance during UIC study. Minimum requirements for each candidate are: IELTS 6.0/TOFEL79 and GPA 2.5.

Documents need to be submitted upon application: Study Abroad (Exchange) Application Form; One copy of UIC academic transcript; Personal statement; A signed letter of recommendation from your English language teacher and programme professor; Three copies of Passport and one copy of ID card; Physical check at Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau.

Personal Statement Personal statements are personal, there is no one type or style of writing that is set out as a model. Remember the goal: grab the readers’ interest, and make them want to meet you for an interview.

Personal Statement A picture. Your personal essay should produce a picture of you as a person, a student, a potential scholarship winner, and (looking into the future) a former scholarship recipient An invitation. The reader must be invited to get to know you, personally. Bridge the assumed distance of strangers. Make your reader welcome. An indication of your priorities and judgement. What you choose to say in your statement tells the committee what your priorities are. What you say, and how you say it, is crucial. A story, or more precisely, your story. Everyone has a story to tell, but we are not all natural storytellers. If you are like most people, your life lacks inherent drama. This is when serious self-reflection, conversation with friends, family, and mentors, and permission to be creative come in handy.
