2 Personality (study the definitions and examples) The type of person smb. is, and the way they behave towards other people( the whole nature or character of a particular person / forceful, lively and usually attractive qualities of character); One part of smb.’s character ( quality, attribute, characteristic, trait) A famous person, especially in sport or television ( a TV personality) The qualities which make a place or thing special Personalities – unkind or rude remarks about smb.’s appearance, character Examples: He has a weak ( dynamic…) personality. The drug changed her strong personality. She is quite a personality. The boss likes people with personality. Let’s keep personalities out of the conversation, shall we! It’s partly the architecture, which gives the town its personality.

3 Synonyms (study the definitions and examples) Character – the particular qualities that a person, place, thing has; Disposition – smb.’s usual character ( a particular type of character which makes smb. more likely to behave or react in a definite way), a tendency to behave in a particular way, the position or arrangement of smth. in a particular place Temperament – the emotional part of smb.’s character, especially how likely they are to become angry, happy, sad, etc. Nature – smb.’s character used especially when you are saying whether smb. Is naturally good or bad, gentle or severe; Individuality – the quality of being clearly different from other people and having your own personal character Identity – the definite character that a person or group seems themselves as having, which lets them feel different and separate from everyone else

16 Some possible keys to a person’s character Some people believe you can judge smb’s character not only from one’s star signs or psychology tests but also from features of one’s face or body. This is called physiognomy. According to this theory people’s faces and bodies are divided into several types which reflect different character traits. Besides such things as handwriting, fingerprints, palm lines can open the secrets of one’s inner world.  Do you find the idea that personality and appearance go together and influence each other convincing?  Study your handwriting, fingerprints and palm. Would you agree with the information they suggest?  Analyze your friend’s character as thoroughly as you can. Pay attention to both weaknesses and strengths of his/her personality. Say which of his/her traits attract you / appeal to you. Write 120-150 words.
