Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily.” Zig Ziglar Motivation is “the force that energises performance, gives direction to behaviour and underlies the tendency to persist even in difficult times” (PJ Smit, 2007). Motivation is based on Three Things:

5 Resources – Unless of course you’re Chuck Norris, it’s hard to get people motivated for task for which they don’t have the resources!

18 The Party Principle: Food always helps people get to meetings. They tend to talk more freely with food and drink in hand. Your requirements for leader commitments must be long enough to build relationships (depends on your constitution time frame) & short enough to appeal to them. What about the difficulty of having to serve with leaders, who are elected by the church, but who show no spiritual maturity? We will do well to remember Servant Leadership (John 13) above all, and that our motivation ultimately comes from God and His grace in our lives.
