4 l Supports the Air Marines by providing calibration and repair services to active units and ships in combat theater as well as deploying ships and stationed units Ship Customers: USS JOHN KENNEDY USS ENTERPRISE USS NIMITZ USS DWIGHT EISENHOWER USS CARL VINSON USS ROOSEVELT USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN USS GEORGE WASHINGTON USS JOHN STENNIS USS HARRY TRUMAN USS RONALD REAGAN USS NASSAU USS PELELIU USS WASP USS ESSEX USS KEARSARGE USS BOXER USS BATAAN USS BONHOMME RICHARD USS IWO JIMA FY05FY06FY07FY08FY09 est 1,6752,2502,5304,066 5,040 Gages Calibrated By Corona: “Air Marines” Calibrated Gun Gages

5 Description: Inspection time of Head Space Gages decreased by the utilization of Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) while increasing accuracy and precision. 45 minutes10 minutesBatch Processing (2 hours for rack of 40) Innovation: CMM Reduction in Inspection Times HEADSPACE GAGE INSPECTION

6 Technicians and engineers designed and fabricated a fixture to hold 40 headspace gages for CMM. Innovation: CMM Reduction in Inspection Times

7 Status: LCPs released requiring the use of new technology measurement systems. Measurement systems operated in environmentally controlled lab (“Helios Room,” 68 +/- 1 degree F.) Foot pedal automated data capture via computer interface into Gage Tracking System Other Involved Activities: MARCORSYSCOM PM-TMDE/CTMS (PMM-161) USMC Units (end-user) METRICS / Savings / ROI: Increased productivity by collocating new technologies and streamlining process flow. Automated data capture by technicians eliminates need for manual data entry. Eliminates data entry errors. Cost savings of approx. 670 hrs per year on set-up & inspection times, data collection, and recording. Description: Roundness and Linear Measurement Systems A special roundness (Rondcom 60A) measurement system, two Helios single-axis measuring instruments, and an electronic height gage are used as a method of checking cylindricity, straightness, taper, and other circular geometries, outside and inside diameters, lengths, and threads. Ideal for high precision measurements of IWGCP gages with an accuracy of 30 to 50 millionths of an inch. Innovation: Rondcom 60A & Helios Reduction in Inspection Times

8 Barcoding 2D Matrix on gages Innovation: IUID Serialized Item Management

9 Ultra-Sonic Cleaner Innovation: Centralized Cleaning Station
