The Fungis Attempt Radishes

Research Question Can a group of plants that show predominantly recessive traits over generations exhibit dominant traits?

Research prediction  If we are cross breeding correctly then the plants in future generations show more dominant traits because they will be heterozygous than homozygous dominant.

Why? We came up with this because we were wondering about the influence genetics can play in the growing of the species

Experimental Design  1) Plant seeds about 2cm deep  2) Record height and stem color  3) Remove the plants that is not being tested  4) Observe till set flowers

Experimental Design  5) Pollinate flowers with paint brush  6) Observe till plants get pods  7) Harvest the pods and germinate the seeds

Research conclusion  Yes our group found that a group of plants that show predominantly recessive traits over generations exhibit dominant traits because each gene can be dominant in one generation because of its natural structure.

Final observations  We never knew the genetics of these radishes  These radishes are the type that one would grow at a farm  We can tell that tall is dominant and so are the purple stems.  The leaves have fur on them and this keeps away the bugs.

Further Experitmentation  We are gonna habitate them a little longer in class then we'll plant them, we are not gonna kill them  If we could've had more time maybe we'd would've been able to cross polinate them but our timeframe prevented us from doing so.
